Our brewery and retail store is located right on Hwy. 117 in Baysville, around 400 m from the town docks on the South Muskoka River. The brand-new building features high ceilings, lots of natural light and large windows for public viewing. We included plenty of room for expansion should everyone decide they like our beer! Most importantly, the brewery has a retail store where you can find our brews on sale in bottles and in kegs! Construction began in September 2009, with the final touches on the building exterior completed in mid-May 2010. The Making of the Brewery
Construction of our brewery and retail store began in September 2009, and continued through the winter as we installed and tested our production equipment. We've stored all our photos of the construction process on this page — have a look through and see the Lake of Bays Brewing Company in the making!
February 5, 2010: Major Upgrade
The brewery has moved into the 21st century with the addition of windows made of - can you believe it - glass. This is a major improvement over the previous strategy of covering every opening in the building with plastic sheets and hoping the raccoons didn't find a way in. Now we'll have natural light in the building throughout the whole day! Maybe we should buy some potted plants.
And for those of you who get a kick out of industrial valves and pipes, we've included some photos of steam and glycol piping material arriving on site. Major work on this begins next week.
