Cujo Imperial Golden Ale

bottle-glass-cujoCURTIS JOSEPH

We are proud to pay tribute to Curtis Joseph as the second of our NHL Alumni Association’s Signature Series line-up of premium, limited-edition beers. Renowned for his lightning reflexes and post-season prowess with St. Louis, Edmonton and Toronto, the man in the rabid dog mask notched 448 wins during his 21-year pro career (1989-2010). An exemplary leader and fearsome opponent, Cujo went to the World Championships and World Cup in 1996, and in Salt Lake City in 2002 helped bring home the gold.

Released in January 2014.

This full bodied ale pours with an old gold, copper, burnt orange hue topped off with dense ivory coloured foam. The aromas start with caramel and butterscotch with a wisp of toasted whole grain bread and honey. Shortly after, fruity notes appear, led by apricot and sultana raisins and are capped off with a slight aroma of toasted nuts. The body begins with a slightly sweet flavour that drifts into apricot and orange marmalade. There’s also some nice bready characteristics accented by a touch of nut. Starting with a sparkling, champagne-like feeling, the dry finish is full, lingering and warming.
