This red saison pours with a warm coppery hue and tan head. Aromas are gently spicy, with a slight earthiness and a tinge of clove and banana. The flavours are predominantly biscuit and toffee at first, followed by warming winter spice. Medium bodied and smooth, lively carbonation and the crispness of Belgian saison yeast and Ontario perle hops provide a balancing zing. The toffee tails off to a slight bitterness at the finish.
