TORONTO AND BAYSVILLE (January 16, 2014) — Lake of Bays Brewing Company and the NHL Alumni Association proudly announce that Curtis Joseph is the next hockey legend to be honoured in their Signature Series lineup of limited-release beers. The Cujo brew is scheduled to be released in early March. Renowned throughout the 1990s for his lightning reflexes and his post-season prowess with St. Louis, Edmonton, and Toronto, the man in the rabid dog mask notched an astounding 448 wins during his 21-year professional career in net (1989-2010). An exemplary leader and fearsome opponent, CuJo represented Canada at the World Championships and World Cup of Hockey in 1996, and in Salt Lake City in 2002 helped bring home the gold. INTRODUCING: CUJO IMPERIAL GOLDEN ALE
Two-row pale malt and American cascade hops give this Imperial Golden Ale an aromatic hint of citrus, toasted grains and caramel. Magnum hops balance it off with a gentle bittering — IBUs clock in at 34 — curbing the sweetness and quenching the palate. 8% alc./vol.
AVAILABILITY Signature Series beers are sold online as part of the Signature Series Club, a four-release line-up of limited-edition brews and collectables available throughout Ontario. Go to SignatureSeriesClub.com to learn more and to reserve yours. The individual Signature Series brews are also sold as stand-alone purchases available for a limited time at some LCBOs. Go to BeerFinder.ca on your smartphone to find the ones nearest you. (They sell out quickly so a call to the store before heading out is recommended.) BACKGROUNDER In June of 2013, the NHL Alumni Association inked a partnership with Lake of Bays Brewing Company to produce a family of hockey-themed beers. Royalties from all NHLAA beer sales go toward the work of the Alumni. Their first beer, Top Shelf Classic Lager, available in tall cans year-round, was released in October. China Wall, their second release, and the first of the Signature Series, was released in December.
