Official beer of the NHL Alumni Association
BAYSVILLE, ON — August 19, 2013 — Lake of Bays Brewing Company and the NHL Alumni Association are proud to reveal the name and look of their first official collaboratively-produced beer: Top Shelf Classic Lager.
“Top Shelf is when you score high in the net, and of course it’s the kind of superlative we’re looking for in all the beers we make,” said Lake of Bays Brewing Co. president and founder Darren Smith.
Top Shelf is an American-style lager brewed with noble hops and Canadian malt. It’s an easy-drinking 4.5% alc./vol., handcrafted to please craft beer drinkers as well as the mainstream beer market. Click here to download a print-quality PDF information page about Top Shelf Classic Lager.
Tall cans of Top Shelf Classic Lager are set to arrive in LCBOs and on tap at select Ontario pubs and restaurants in the fall. The beer will be available all year around.
Distribution to other Canadian provinces and the northeastern United States is scheduled to follow in late fall or early 2014.
Lake of Bays Brewing Company and the NHL Alumni Association signed a deal to team up to produce a family of hockey-themed beers in June. Top Shelf is their first release. The duo’s first limited-release Signature Series specialty brew is in development, with more to follow.
A portion of the proceeds from NHLAA beer sales will go to support the activities of the NHL Alumni Association.
